Published grave types
The broad categories listed for Neuer Südfriedhof are:
- earth graves,
- urn graves,

Within these categories, location, occupancy, period of use, renewal, maintenance and design freedom can differ substantially. Not every option is available at all times.
Resting period
The published resting period is ten years. This is not automatically the same as the duration of a right of use. Ask the administration which period and renewal options apply to a specific purchase.
Compare options carefully
Before deciding, ask:
- Is the preferred grave type currently available?
- Is it a row, choice or communal option?
- Who is responsible for ongoing care and safety?
- Which planting and memorial rules apply?
- Which services and fees are additional?
- Can the right of use be renewed or transferred?
Burial under trees
Burial under trees is explicitly included among the options. This does not mean that every tree area permits individual planting or a private memorial. Ask for a written explanation of the precise format, identification and maintenance responsibility.
